If this world had a soul , wouldn't it be stirred,
by the pain, love , tenderness and care,
unflinchingly unto it we've poured.
Haven't we persevered through dawn and dusk?
Brought up mighty sons to guard this earth.
Isn't it time, to nurture us in turn?
as we carry the flame of ambition and go forth.
Not for us the flattering roses and presents.
Not us! shallow creatures of vanity.
We aspire to stand side by side under the firmament,
Break every glass ceiling, make every vision a reality.
One day!! just one? we're spared
for mushy greetings and laudation.
Then relegated to the background
undeserving of civility.
Time for us to take our place under the sun,
Unlike fancy garments to be shown off in a soiree,
and left to choke in the dark recesses, forever hidden.
